Hey there!
I'm Marianne, but you might know me as
imaginethetruth on LiveJournal! I'm new to Dreamwidth, but I am oh so very excited to be here!
For those of you who don't know me, I'm a C6D (Canadian Six Degrees) fic writer. I specialize in all things Paul Gross and Callum Rennie, and I'm working on getting my Hugh Dillon "watched" list a whole lot longer.
I'm just eighteen, so I still have a lot to learn about writing. I think fanfic writing is a really great invention/system/whatever because it gives you the opportunity to focus on your technique and interact with other writers. I've been writing C6D for nearly a year now, and I love it. I hope to continue for a very long time, but that sort of all depends on you guys.
I mean, if I wanted to write purely for myself, I could do that and not put it up. The reason why I even post half of this stuff is because I love hearing what you have to say, whether it's complimentary or constructively critical. Really, I'm all ears as long as you aren't TOO harsh. When I read fic, I always scan the comments afterwords. I often see really sweet stuff, and I'm like, "Oh, I wish people would comment my fic!"
I'm still relatively new to this, and there's a lot about LJ and DW that I don't know. Perhaps that's why I'm still kind of an unknown. There are a few people who sort of regularly read my writing (though most of them are my friends haha), and I love them for it, but it would be nice to get even more feedback. It's encouraging as a writer to read your comments! When I post something, I always think: "I wonder how they'll respond to this new story! I'm so excited to see what people think."
So, if you read something of mine (there will be a lot on here in the future), please, please, PLEASE, head on down to the comments section and add your own thoughts. If you see something wrong with a fic (typo, grammar error), LET ME KNOW so I can fix it!
Alright, I'll stop this now. Come stop by my LJ: imaginethetruth.livejournal.com - I have some fic up there!
Much love,
Marianne
